Only four months after the release of BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls, Shueisha has applied to register a trademark for “BLEACH Mirrors High” in the typical game classes: 9 and 41. The trademark application has been filed in the United States (Class 9 only), Europe, and Japan.

ROCC TALK: Yeah, I’m not too sure about this one yet.
Based on the timing of this filing, I don’t think there’s any relation to BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls. If my familiarity with the anime game development pipeline is accurate here, whatever this is (if it IS a game) was in development at the same time as Rebirth of Souls. Thus, there are three outcomes we need to consider:
- Bandai is showing a level of confidence in BLEACH that I haven’t seen anyone show in any IP in years, to the point that it’s already joining the ranks of Dragon Ball, Mobile Suit Gundam, and One Piece, all of which regularly have multiple games in development.
- Another publisher is working on a BLEACH game. This would mark the first time in more than 15 years that a major anime has had multiple console games in development from different publishers.
- It’s a mobile game, as anime mobile game specialist Kaku believes. As an optimist, I (respectfully) hope they’re wrong.
I expect more information about BLEACH: Mirrors High to be revealed later this year.
