Sony announced August’s PlayStation Plus Essential lineup, revealing that DEATH NOTE: Killer Within will be one of the free games in Japan. This marks the game’s official release in Japan.

DEATH NOTE: Killer Within launches for PlayStation on August 5, 2025 in Japan. The game released on PlayStation and Steam overseas on November 5, 2024, also as part of the PlayStation Plus Essential lineup.
