As part of Season 12, My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble will add a new mode in early September. This will be the game’s fifth mode, after the standard 3-man team, 2-man team, and battle royale modes.

ROCC TALK: Is co-op coming to Ultra Rumble?
I mentioned in my recent My Hero Academia: All’s Justice video that, after the second Ultra Rumble beta test, Bandai released a survey that mentioned a variety of modes yet to be implemented, including 12-player co-op against a giant enemy. (The survey has since been closed and I can’t find my recording of me taking the survey, so you’ve just gotta take my word for it until I can pull something up.) If we take into account Bandai’s console strategy for their more successful anime game franchises—an ecosystem with different games that serve different purposes—boss fights may not be anywhere near as prominent in All’s Justice than I originally hoped because Byking is implementing it, with co-op, into Ultra Rumble.
If this is the case, I’m conflicted. On one hand, Ultra Rumble has a much better battle system to fit giant bosses. On the other, I despise the game’s gacha system. Either way, we’ll find out by late August what the new mode is.
My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
