A new character is coming to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Last Survivor in September, and Bandai wants you to guess who it is.

As a master of The Art of Throwing Shit at the Wall and Being Right, a contest like this is right up my alley. Johnny Joestar is the most obvious choice, especially with the Steel Ball Run anime on the way, and that’s exactly why it won’t be him: the anime isn’t out yet. The same thing goes for Funny Valentine and both forms of Diego, although I wouldn’t be surprised if the latter is already in the pipeline.
Looking at the current Last Survivor roster, this is the series split:
- Phantom Blood: 0
- Battle Tendency: 2
- Stardust Crusaders: 7
- Diamond is Unbreakable: 6
- Golden Wind: 8
- Stone Ocean: 5
- Steel Ball Run: 1
Each Part requires three key characters to round it out: the JoJo, the JoBro, and the main villain. Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable, and Golden Wind are the only parts with all three, so we can rule those out. Especially Golden Wind, since it has the most characters. Battle Tendency lacks its main villain (Kars), while Stone Ocean lacks its JoBro (Ermes). However, I believe the more recent inclusion of Battle Tendency also doubled as a test run for Phantom Blood, so Jonathan, Zeppeli, and Part 1 Dio may be on the table. If I had to rank these five characters by their likelihood, it’d be: Jonathan, Kars, Ermes, Dio, Zeppeli.
If the team decides to stay with the series already in the game, we can rule out Golden Wind entirely because it already has 8 characters, followed by Battle Tendency’s Esidisi and Stardust Crusaders’ Joseph unless their voice actors are recast. Bandai didn’t recast them for All Star Battle R so I don’t see them doing so here either. Among the already-represented series, there are one or two other characters I can see getting added:
- Battle Tendency: Stroheim, Wamuu
- Stardust Crusaders: Vanilla Ice
- Diamond is Unbreakable: Yukako
- Stone Ocean: F.F., Pucci (Made in Heaven)
