The Solo Leveling: ARISE development team has a released a new “Developer Notes” post, confirming that Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE is a new, standalone title.

Executive producer Jin Seong Gun stated that the goal of Solo Leveling: ARISE was to “become a flagship title in the action genre, while also expanding the IP and achieving broad appeal,” and added features like auto-battle and multi-play to make combat more accessible. However, the team felt that approach was restricting, and decided to develop Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE separately “to offer an extreme action play experience tailored for PC and console platforms.” OVERDRIVE focuses on “deeper, more core gameplay and action mechanics.” Auto battle has been removed, guard and parry have been added, and the game is only available on PC and consoles to “support more precise input and control.” Ultimately, the team decided to develop Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE separately because the combat style and core game systems were fundamentally different.

Jin Seong Gun reassured players of Solo Leveling: ARISE that will continue to be supported as usual, and the development of OVERDRIVE “will never lead to a reduction in development resources or a decline in service quality” for ARISE.

Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE launches Fall 2025 for PC (via Steam and Xbox PC), and in 2026 for Xbox Series and Xbox Cloud. Solo Leveling: ARISE is currently available for Android, iOS, and PC (via the Netmarble launcher and Epic Games Store).
