At the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — The Movie: Infinity Castle Team Member Association Meeting” event, Aniplex released a new trailer for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 revealing that the game will launch on August 1, 2025 for PlayStation, Xbox (digital-only), and Nintendo Switch in Japan. SEGA’s translated version confirmed the game will hit the West the following week, on August 5 for the same platforms. The Steam version will be out alongside the Western release.

Interestingly, the game is rated higher than the original. Hinokami Chronicles 1 was Rated T in the United States, PEGI 16 in Europe, and CERO C in Japan, while Hinokami 2 is rated M, PEGI 18, and CERO D.

The official website revealed a Standard, Digital Standard, Limited, and Digital Deluxe Edition for the game, as well as various bonuses. Early purchases of any physical edition include a set of four Combined Ultimate Art character illustrations. Pre-ordering any digital edition unlocks Muichiro and Mitsuri early, and buying the digital version in general unlocks Kimetsu Academy versions of Rengoku and Tengen.

The Limited Edition includes:

• Early unlock codes for Tengen, Muichiro, Mitsuri, Obanai, Sanemi, Gyomei, Kimetsu Academy Rengoku, and Kimetsu Academy Tengen
• Entertainment District Infiltration costumes for Tanjiro and Inosuke
• Tengen’s Ninja Costume
• “Upper Rank Demon” battle voices set featuring Akaza, Daki, Gyutaro, Gyokko, and Zohakuten
• A multi-stand figure featuring Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Tengen’s mice (shown below)

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes:

• Early unlock codes for Tengen, Obanai, Sanemi, and Gyomei
• Entertainment District Infiltration costumes for Tanjiro and Inosuke

Additionally, Hinokami Chronicles 2 features early unlocks through save data bonuses for both Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles and Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board!

• Hinokami 1 save data unlocks all Kimetsu Academy characters from that game.
• Sweep the Board! save data unlocks Tengen’s wives, Hinazuru, Makio, and Suma as a playable character, as well as their Soup Delivery costume.

Physical PlayStation pre-orders for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 begin in Japan on March 3, while digital pre-orders begin on March 4. Switch pre-orders will open at a later date.
