Chizai Watch revealed that Kodansha applied to register a trademark in Japan for “パリピ孔明”( Ya Boy Kongming!) on November 8, 2024. The two categories listed on the trademark are 9 and 28, the former of which is usually associated with video games. While this should not be taken as a precursor to a game announcement, it’s important to note that Kodansha IPs have received more console and/or PC game adaptations in the last 3 years than they did in the decade prior:

• Bandai Namco released That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Chronicles in August 2024.
• MAGES. released five The Quintessential Quintuplets games since 2021 (including two mobile game ports) and have a Rent-a-Girlfriend game coming in November 2024.
• Aiming announced a Wind Breaker game coming in 2025.
• Netmarble has a The Seven Deadly Sins game in development for mobile, consoles, and PC.
• Victor Entertainment released a Tokyo Revengers game for mobile and PC in November 2024, with a console port in the works.
• Konami is releasing an EDENS ZERO game in 2025.
• Koei Tecmo is releasing a second Fairy Tail game in December 2024.
• Kodansha themselves released two indie Fairy Tail games for PC in 2024, and have a third game in development.
• Hiro Mashima himself developed and released an EDENS ZERO game.

We’ll know in due time whether or not this is related to a game (maybe from MAGES.?) or crossover with another game.
