Bandai Namco has released their second quarter financial report, and all of their big anime IPs exceeded their first half projections.

  • Anpanman earned 5.3 billion yen in the first half, up 300 million from Bandai’s initial projection.
  • Mobile Suit Gundam earned 76.5 billion yen, up 1.5 billion from Bandai’s initial projection.
  • Dragon Ball earned 75.7 billion yen, up 8.7 billion from Bandai’s initial projection.
  • Naruto earned 15 billion yen, 2 billion up from Bandai initial projection.
  • PreCure earned 3.3 billion yen, up 300 million yen from Bandai’s initial projection.
  • One Piece earned 73.2 billion yen, up 6.2 billion from Bandai’s initial projection.

Bandai’s second quarter net sales are up 21.5% from the previous year—502 billion yen to 610 billion yen—and 9.9% from their initial first half projections—555 billion yen to 610 billion yen. Bandai recently revised their second quarter projections, stating:

“…in home console games ELDEN RING SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE, the major downloadable content of the home console game ELDEN RING has become a hit in markets worldwide. Moreover, repeat sales for ELDEN RING also performed well. In network content, in addition to good performance from major app titles, the new app title, THE IDOLM@STER Gakuen got off to a good start.”

Bandai’s top three franchises continued their domination, but their positions continue to shift. Although Dragon Ball was in third place in the first quarter, it pulled ahead of One Piece. Gundam remains at the top.

Most of Bandai’s top anime IPs released a new game within the last two years:
